For the last 10 days of 2015, the Angus Reid Institute is counting down our top 10 stories of the year, based on the total number of page views they received at angusreid.org. This is number 8.
While health care is usually one of the top three issues Canadians say they see facing the country, access to prescription drugs is an oft-overlooked part of the story.
This study, conducted in partnership with the Mindset Foundation found that more than one-in-five Canadians say they or someone in their household has failed to take prescribed medication as directed because of the cost. The study also found high levels of support for a national pharmacare program, but considerable opposition to various proposals for funding it.
