While COVID-19 cost thousands of Canadians their lives this year, another tragedy befell Nova Scotia in April, shaking the country from coast to coast. The nation’s worst mass shooting in history unfolded over the course of two days on April 18 and 19; 22 people were killed. In the fallout from this devastating event, the Liberal government moved forward with a long-promised ban on assault style weapons, with major public support.
