October 18, 2015 – Mainstreet asked all respondents the question “If the federal election were today, which party would you support?” Those who said they were undecided were asked the follow-up question “Which party are you leaning towards?” The numbers reported include both decided and leaning voters.
Mainstreet used IVR to generate a sample of 5,546 Canadian adults using both cell phones and landlines. The margin of error for their poll is reported at +/-1.46%, 19 times out of 20. Results are weighted to census data for language, age, and gender.
The results were: Liberal 38 per cent, CPC 33 per cent, NDP 21 per cent.
