Senior Research Associate position

About You:

You’re someone who lives for and loves survey research. You’re passionate about writing good quality questionnaires that draw the most accurate, nuanced and thoughtful opinions from respondents on a variety of subjects, complex and straightforward.

You’re a generalist and you are motivated by the challenged of researching an array of topics. You have strong skills in sampling and data analysis and you’re able to multitask and meet project deadlines. You have experience designing and analyzing survey research-based studies.

You’re a strong writer and you have a solid understanding of the regulatory, policy and governance frameworks in Canada. You’re well-versed in Canadian and international political, social and economic trends.

You’re a team player and a self-starter.

This position is based in Vancouver B.C.

Compensation will be between 60-100K per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Skills and Experience: 

Master’s degree or PhD in Sociology, Political Science or a related field

Writer/Researcher Role

ARI is seeking a full-time Writer/Researcher to join the team. We are looking for someone who is trained as or has worked as a professional writer in journalism, communications and/or public affairs. Your copy is so clean it shines. Your phrases evoke the stirring notes of operatic height. You know how to produce on deadline. You have 3-5 years of professional experience. Preferably the ideal candidate will be based in Vancouver however this is not required, and we will review candidates across Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing accurate and engaging reports
  • Analyzing data
  • Researching policy
  • Creating graphs, charts and basic infographics
  • Programming surveys

This may be the right opportunity for you if:

  • You’re well-versed in Canadian and international political, social and economic trends.
  • You have a basic understanding of research and polling methodology.
  • You aren’t necessarily a research expert, but you’re willing and excited to learn the processes and applications needed to get there.
  • You’re a team player and a self-starter.
  • You’ll be called on upon to create web content, so experience with WordPress and some basic HTML/CCS ability is an asset.
  • You have passing functionality with Microsoft Excel.
  • A working knowledge of French considered an asset.
