Year end letter from Chairman Angus Reid

I started the Angus Reid Institute in October 2014 with a simple goal: To provide an independent voice in Canadian public opinion polling, one that wouldn’t be aligned with any political party or beholden to any corporate interests.

As 2019 begins, we’re into our fifth year of working toward that goal. Over the first four, we’ve published nearly 500 polls and analyses and had more than 1 million visitors to our website, angusreid.org.

By almost any measure, 2018 was our most successful year yet. We published ground-breaking research on the opioid crisis, the #metoo movementpovertyIndigenous issuesNAFTApipelines, and much more, all while seeing record traffic to our site and earning hundreds of media mentions.

2018 also saw the re-launch of the Angus Reid Forum, which provides sample to the Angus Reid Institute on a pro-bono basis. A separate entity from ARI, the Angus Reid Forum is Canada’s most-respected opinion community. It aims to grow to more than 200,000 panelists in the coming years. More information about the Angus Reid Forum can be found at angusreid.com.

Over the years, as the Angus Reid Institute has continued to grow and change, our core mission has remained the same: To provide Canadians with free, unbiased data on the public opinion landscape in their country. Thank you for subscribing to this email list and for continuing to support that mission.

Have a Merry Christmas, a joyful holiday season, and a Happy New Year,

Angus Reid
