Veteran Pollster, Policy and Public Affairs Researcher John Wright Joins Angus Reid Institute

Vancouver, BC, Canada –  June 20, 2016

Shachi Kurl, Executive Director of the Angus Reid Institute – Canada’s foremost non-partisan, not-for-profit polling organization – is pleased to announce the appointment of John Wright as a Senior Fellow.

“John is one of Canada’s most experienced and respected leaders in polling, public policy and public affairs strategic communications,” said Kurl. “We are delighted to add his vast talent and expertise to our growing team.”

“I have worked with John for over three decades. He has distinguished himself in the discipline of commercial public affairs research and strategy and will now work with the Institute to continue to fostering public interest research aimed at expanding our knowledge of Canada, its people and the broader world in which we live” said Angus Reid, Chairman.

Wright joins the Institute after a 26-year career with Ipsos, having served as a Senior Vice President of its Public Affairs Research Division, Managing Director of its Global @dvisor Polling Division and its chief media spokesperson for Canada. Wright began working with the company in 1989 when he joined the Angus Reid Group and continued after Ipsos bought the firm in March, 2000 for the largest cash transaction ($100M) in the history of the Canadian market research industry. Prior to that, Wright spent a decade in advertising, public affairs communications and government relations roles.
